Cutler Bay Job Fair Draws Strong Community Turnout
Cutler Bay, FL – August 2024 – The Town of Cutler Bay successfully hosted its highly anticipated Job Fair on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. The event drew larger-than-expected job seekers, with residents from Cutler Bay and neighboring communities eager to explore career opportunities in construction-related fields.
The Job Fair featured a diverse group of Town vendors, consultants, and contractors actively hiring for various projects funded by The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Attendees had the chance to connect with potential employers, submit their resumes, and take meaningful steps toward securing a new career.
Councilmember Suzy Lord expressed her excitement, saying, "Our Town contractors and consultants are ready to connect with you. This is a great opportunity to learn about federally funded projects happening right here in Cutler Bay."
About ARPA and Our Town’s Projects
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) plays a pivotal role in our Town’s ongoing development efforts. Through ARPA funding, we are able to support job creation and economic recovery, particularly in the construction sector. These projects not only create jobs but also enhance skill development and career advancement opportunities for our residents.
Councilmember Richard Ramirez highlighted one such project, stating, "One of our contractors here today is Acosta Tractors, who is working on the $16 million Franjo Road project. When this project is completed, it will greatly improve traffic flow and drainage, making it a much better experience for everyone."
We invite you to learn more about how we utilize ARPA funds to improve our Town. Visit our Projects website or download our latest presentation, which provides detailed information on our current ARPA-funded projects.
Town Manager Rafael Casals expressed his enthusiasm for the event: "We’re thrilled to see such a strong turnout from our community. This Job Fair is a testament to our commitment to supporting economic growth and job creation in Cutler Bay. The opportunities provided here today will not only benefit our residents but also contribute to the continued development of our Town.”
