10th Annual Cutler Bay Senior Games: A Celebration of Athleticism, Community, and Fun
Cutler Bay, FL – December 4, 2024 - The Town of Cutler Bay recently celebrated its 10th Annual Senior Games, held from November 14-22, 2024, with record-breaking participation. Over 130 athletes aged 50 and over from Cutler Bay and neighboring municipalities joined us for nine days of spirited competition, camaraderie, and community pride.
The Games featured 11 exciting categories: Track & Field, Tennis, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, Table Tennis, Horseshoes, Swimming, Bowling, Billiards, Corn Hole, and Basketball Shooting. Athletes competed under sunny skies, showcasing their skills and determination while cheering each other on every step of the way.
The event concluded with the highly anticipated Awards Luncheon and Resource Fair, a highlight of the week. During the ceremony, we proudly introduced new superlative awards, voted on by the athletes themselves, recognizing individuals for:
- Most Valuable Player
- Cheer-Master
- Most Improved
- Leadership
In honor of our decade-long tradition, we also presented the prestigious Golden Award to athletes who have participated in all 10 years of the Senior Games.
We were honored to welcome Mayor Tim Meerbott, Councilmember Suzy Lord and Richard Ramirez, and our newly elected State Representative Omar Blanco, who joined us at the Awards Luncheon to celebrate this milestone event. Their presence underscored the importance of supporting and honoring our senior residents.
Throughout the week, athletes stayed energized with complimentary smoothies provided during Pickleball, Tennis, and Track days. The Awards Luncheon capped off the week with heartwarming moments, health resources provided by our sponsors, and well-deserved recognitions.
