Cutler Bay/ Whispering Pines 4th of July Parade Participation Rules
The following may participate in the 4th of July Parade in the following order:
- Walkers
- Marching Bands
- Dancers
- Bicycle Riders
- Floats
- Golf Carts
- Farming Tractors
- Road Motorcycles or Scooters
- Cars or Trucks (including Classic or Vintage vehicles)
- Horse Riders (Pooper Scooper Walker Required)
Walkers, Marching Bands, Dancers, Bicycle Riders shall keep up with the pace of the parade. The pace will be as fast as the slowest participants. This means that walkers will be situated at the beginning of the parade, followed by golf carts, then vehicles at the end. Performers will not slow or stop the pace of the parade at any time during the route.
Participating motorized vehicles will be properly licensed and registered with the State of Florida or in another State. The motorized vehicle will be operated by a driver with a Valid State Driver License.
DISQUALIFYING VEHICLES: All Terrain Vehicles, Dirt Bikes, Side-by-Side Cars, Motorized Bicycles, Go-Carts, Riding Lawn Mowers or other similar type vehicles designed for off-road or recreational purposes, are not allowed to participate unless preapproved by Town Park and/or Police staff. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis. Contact Town Park Staff at (786) 573-5502, for details.
RESTRICTIONS: There will be no consumption of alcohol or smoking on any vehicle, trailer or float. No person operating a vehicle, trailer, float or other motorized vehicle in the parade will be under the influence of alcoholic beverages or any type of unlawful drugs.
PATRIOTIC THEME: All floats, vehicles, and other similar mobile items will be decorated in a patriotic 4th of July theme. All displays will be in good taste, suitable for families, show respect to other parade participants, and contribute to the overall entertainment value of the parade. In the best interest of all spectators, participating groups and individuals are encouraged to display items and play music that are consistent with the celebration of the 4th of July.
PARADE GIFT ITEMS: No objects will be thrown from any vehicle, trailer, float or display during the parade. This includes candy, water balloons, or any other small objects. Candy or small gifts may be given by a walker along the edge of the roadway or sidewalk to individual spectators, if desired.
FIREARMS: No person shall possess or discharge a firearm, noise maker, firework, or similar items at any time during the parade. This will cause the participants to be immediately disqualified and removed from the parade.
PARADE MARSHALS: Town Park and/or Police staff reserve the right in its sole discretion, at any time, to disqualify any participant from the parade, prior to or during the parade, regarding any safety concerns or non-compliance with the established rules.
