Miami-Dade County Caribbean Boulevard Bridge Replacement Project

Location:

The project is located along Caribbean Boulevard over C1-N Canal, between SW 103 Avenue and SW 103 Place within Miami-Dade County Commission Districts 8 & 9. The proposed project consists of replacing Caribbean Boulevard Bridge no. 874431.

Estimated Start:

Construction is tentatively scheduled to commence in April 2021.

Estimated Completion:

Project is anticipated to be completed in November 2022.

Summary:

This Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works project consists of replacing Caribbean Boulevard Bridge no. 874431, which spans the C1-N Canal, along Caribbean Boulevard at the intersections of SW 103 Avenue and SW 103 Place. The replacement of the bridge was proposed to increase the C1-N canal width for more efficient flow, and to update the bridge with the most current design and safety standards.

The proposed bridge will feature new, wider sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides of the road for increased pedestrian and bicycle safety. Roadway safety features will also be updated to the latest design and safety standards, to include milling and resurfacing, updated roadway transitions and new signing and pavement markings.

Road Access:

Access to local roads will be maintained during construction, however, traffic patterns in the area will be altered as the project progresses and delays will be expected.
