We were honored to welcome Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar to our event, where she presented us with a $1 million check for the Saga Bay Community – Water Quality Improvements Project. This crucial project aims to alleviate frequent flooding and treat stormwater runoff by installing a pump station, reconstructing existing catch basins, constructing additional catch basins, and installing French drains and weir structures. These improvements will enhance the stormwater system's capacity, reduce pollution, and protect Biscayne Bay by implementing best management practices. We sincerely thank Congresswoman Salazar's professional staff for coordinating this funding request through various House Committees.
We were also honored to have Juan Fernandez-Barquin, Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller for Miami-Dade County, along with the Town Council, attending the event. Additionally, we held the follow-up public involvement meeting, where our consultants received numerous comments regarding the two projects: the 8.5-acre park and the 53-acre wetlands restoration project. For those who were unable to attend but still wish to share your input, we invite you to join us at our tents during the upcoming community events. Let's continue working towards a greener, more connected community in Cutler Bay.
