About the Meeting
The Community Connectivity Committee has been called by District 8 Commissioner, Danielle Cohen Higgins, to allow our community to come together to discuss the topic of connectivity in our community and the idea of building a bridge on SW 87 Avenue between SW 164 Street and 163 Terrace.
The Committee is composed of eight members—four who oppose the bridge (appointed by Palmetto Bay Mayor Karyn Cunningham) and four who favor it (appointed by Cutler Bay Mayor Tim Meerbott). The members are as follows:
Palmetto Bay Appointed:
- Marcello Zinn
- Carmen Baker
- Joseph Miorelli
- AlJohn Farquharson
Cutler Bay Appointed:
- Ileah Hoppner

The meetings will provide an opportunity for members to exchange relevant facts and perspectives in a respectful manner, in hopes of educating and reducing misinformation. Each side of the committee will also submit a comprehensive detailed report outlining their positions, which Commissioner Cohen Higgins will submit to the Transportation Planning Organization Board Members, in advance of their meeting where they will review this item.
