Hurricane Dorian Updates

Although Miami-Dade County is outside of Hurricane Dorian's projected path, the possibility of experiencing Tropical Storm force winds and heavy rains may still be expected. You should continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian's movement as well as the the Miami-Dade County Emergency Operations Center webpage for the most current updates by visiting

Town staff is continuously monitoring the storm and will be ready to respond if any changes are made to the forecast. Here are a few updates regarding services you should note:

  • Miami-Dade County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day and on Tuesday, September 3, out of an abundance of caution
  • Regular curbside garbage and recycling collection services will be provided on Monday, September 2. Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste crews will provide service as long as weather conditions permit
  • Bulky waste scheduling and illegal dumping reporting services remain suspended until further notice. Bulky Waste Collection crews will continue to collect previously scheduled trash piles on Monday, September 2, weather permitting
  • All Town Parks and the Cutler Ridge Pool remain closed until further notice
  • All recreational leagues' activities that take place at Town parks remain suspended until further notice
  • As previously scheduled and in observance of Labor Day, Town Hall will be closed on Monday, September 2 and on Tuesday, September 3, out of an abundance of caution
