A Message from Mayor Tim Meerbott and Important Updates on Hurricane Dorian

In anticipation of Hurricane Dorian's potential landfall and in abundance of caution, Town Manager, Rafael Casals, has declared a State of Emergency as of August 30, 2019 (click here to read it).

If you haven't already done so, now is the time to prepare for a possible impact from Hurricane Dorian. Listen to Mayor Tim Meerbott's message posted on our social media platforms this morning with hurricane preparedness tips and updates on the Town. Be sure to also visit Miami-Dade County's website for important information and advice on how to prepare such as: finding which storm surge planning zone your home is in, checking if and when evacuations are ordered and more.

Please take note of the following:

  • All Town Parks and the Cutler Ridge Pool will be closed for tomorrow and until further notice. Activities for today, Friday, August 30, will continue as scheduled
  • All recreational leagues' activities that take place at Town parks have also been suspended until further notice
  • As previously scheduled and in observance of Labor Day, Town Hall will be closed on Monday, September 2 and will also be closed on Tuesday, September 3 as a precaution to Hurricane Dorian's potential impact

We encourage all residents and neighbors to continuously monitor Miami-Dade County's website for important updates regarding Hurricane Dorian at www.miamidade.gov/emergency. And don't forget to download Miami-Dade County's free Emergency Operations Center Activation mobile app on Apple's App Store or Google Play by searching for ReadyMDC.
