Floodplain Mitigation Advisory Committee Meeting Presentation

Post Date:10/16/2018 9:07 AM

The Town of Cutler Bay held the Floodplain Mitigation Advisory Committee Meeting yesterday to discuss what the Town is doing to protect your property from future flooding and damage.

In case you were unable to attend the meeting, you may find links to view the two PowerPoint presentations shown during the meeting below:

The Town seeks to implement a Watershed Master Plan with the hope of reducing flood insurance rates of all property owners within the special flood hazard areas in the Town. The Watershed Master Plan would aid in advancing the Town from a Community Rating System classification rating of a Class V, with annual savings of a twenty-five percent premium discount, to a Class IV, which will save Cutler Bay policy holders an annual savings of a thirty percent premium discount.

Once the Watershed Master Plan is adopted by the Town and approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Flood Insurance Program officials, property owners will be eligible for a flood insurance premium discount of thirty percent.
