Police Join Forces To Implement Back To School Operational Plan
The Town of Cutler Bay's Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), Neighborhood Resource Unit (NRU), and General Investigative Unit (GIU) joined forces and implemented the Back To School Operational Plan during the first two-weeks of school.
The primary goal of this operation was the safety and security of students, teachers, and parents who travel to and from the schools. In addition, the plan focused on educating parents to traffic laws and conducting truancy sweeps during the first week of school. A total of 75 verbal warnings were issued throughout the initiative.
Officers were assigned at Bel-Aire Elementary, Cutler Ridge Elementary, Gulfstream Elementary, Whispering Pines Elementary, Dr. Edward L. Whigman Elementary, Cutler Bay Middle School and Cutler Bay High School.
