Post Date:09/06/2017 8:21 PM

Dear Cutler Bay Residents,

A mandatory Evacuation Order has been issued for Zone A and the Barrier Islands of Zone B. To find out what zone your property is in, use the Storm Surge map.   The Town of Cutler Bay is in Zone "A" and "B".

Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez has announced that four (4) Evacuation Shelters are open.  These shelters have the ability to house 8,000 people combined.

The four (4) shelters that opened at 5:00 pm today are:

  • North Miami Beach Senior High, 1247 NE 167 St.
  • South Miami Senior, 6856 SW 53 St.
  • Felix Varela Senior, 15255 SW 96 St.
  • Miami-Dade County Fair and Exhibition, 10901 Coral Way, in Miami (a pet-friendly shelter)

"These shelters should be the refuge of last resort for people who truly have no place to go," Gimenez said during today's press conference. "We encourage everyone to provide assistance to family, co-workers, friends who are on the evacuation zone."

The Town will continue to keep you informed as information is released; as long as it is safe to do so.  Please visit our website at www.cutlerbay-fl.gov for further updates, and monitor the County's Emergency Website at http://www.miamidade.gov/emergency/.

Stay safe!
