Post Date:07/31/2017 9:59 AM

The Town’s Police Department is inviting all residents to celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Cantamar Residential Community (SW 87 Court and 205 Lane).

National Night Out with the Town’s Police Department will allow residents to meet our Major Leonard Ricelli, Command Staff, and Police Officers, and address concerns while receiving essential crime prevention tips from the Town’s Neighborhood Resource Unit (NRU) Officers.

National Night Out is observed by all fifty (50) United States, U.S. Territories, Canada and U.S. military bases around the world. The celebration takes place on the first Tuesday in August of every year, and has been celebrated since 1984. National Night Out is a national effort to promote unity in communities and strengthen relationships between local public safety departments and residents. It is a holiday designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. The events are sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and focus on drug prevention, town watch, neighborhood crime watch and other anti-crime efforts.

For additional information regarding upcoming special events, please visit the Town’s website at or contact the Town's Police Department at (305) 234-4237.
